Family time
Weather is so nice here in Arizona. Audrey and Brian spend a lot of time outside. Audrey even jumped into the swimming pool last week. Water is still cold but they can't wait to swim! This is the first time I got to shot some family pictures in 2008.

It's show time!
Congratulation to the dance club of Desert Vista High School. The 100+ dancers did a wonderful job in the Viva Las Vegas show. This is the annual Spring Dance show of the dance club. All the dancers have spent hours and hours in preparation. Click the slideshow below to take a peek of the show. All the pictures will be available to view and purchase by next Sunday (4/6)

Good Friday
Attended the Good Friday service in GPCCC last week. It is a good reminder for me about the sacrifice Jesus has made...
Viva Las Vegas!
Have the privilege to photograph the dance show performed by Desert Vista High School Dance Club. The title of this year's dance is "Viva Las Vegas". Over 100 dancers have been practicing for weeks. They're rehearsing daily until the show go public on this Thursday and Friday. The dance teacher is Elizabeth. She used to be the instructor in Marilyn Bostic Ballet Centre. Can't wait to shoot the show on this Thursday!

Gmail and Thunderbird
Gmail is a very popular webmail and I believe most of you have one or multiple gmail accounts. It has a lot of advantage over yahoo or hotmail. The interface is simple and fast. The mail search is extremely powerful. If you like me, want to archive those emails into your own computer. You would probably use some kind of email clients in your computer. I use Mozilla Thunderbird which is completely free, just like his sibling Firefox. Lately Gmail starts supporting IMAP, which makes it extremely powerful for using with offline email clients. However, setting up Thunderbird with Gmail is not straightforward. I found this link giving out the complete procedure to sync between your Gmail account(s) and Thunderbird. The neat things such as sent, trash folders sync. Labels in gmail syncs with folders in Thunderbird. Once you got it setup, it is extremely convenient.

The other cool thing I found from Google is the Google Apps. I just set it up in my upcoming "Kelvin Photographer" site.

Amber & Truman

Congratulation to Amber & Truman!!! I was invited to witness this wonderful couple's wedding in Ponderosa Gardens. I used to be Amber's neighbor in Chandler. It's fun to meet her family again (Heather, Hunter and Elizabeth have grown so much that I barely recognize them!!!) I really like the sermon given by the pastor about marriage. It's a very touching wedding because Amber and Truman are elementary school sweetheart. Hope you have a wonderful marriage.
What a small world, I also met Kacy who was Audrey's teacher in Bethany Learning Center. Kacy is the wedding photographer of this wedding;)
Enjoy the slideshow below:)

Retouching
The technology of digital photography brings the photography business into a whole new world. Digital post processing helps a lot of photographers in refining their pictures. It's especially crucial for lifestyle type pictures which the photographers don't really have a lot time to get the lighting right before the precious moment goes away. I've been creating my own photoshop actions for a while. Lately I decide to do a housekeeping work in my action palette. With the button mode in Photoshop action palette, it's extremely easy to retouch pictures 'straight out of the camera' in couple of minutes. Here is an example of lighting, soft filter and sharpening actions.

The Interview With God and Nature Photos
Got this link from a friend. The video is an interview with God and pretend we're asking God with questions in our mind. The answers from God is a good reminding for adults and especially great for parents to teach their children about life... Those nature pictures are very nice as well.
